At A Taste of Home, we understand the importance of feeling connected to a special time, to a special place. We may be wrong, but we love to call that place home. Since opening our doors in November 2010 in the heart of Haarlem, our mission has been to offer expats all they need to feel at home, and offer globally-minded locals a chance to explore the world of global groceries, or reconnect to the time they spent abroad.

Our Story

Founded by a group of expats from the Republic of Ireland, our company is still run by people who have a good chance of understanding how you feel.

What began as a small, local store has grown into a trusted retailer known for offering a wide selection of international groceries across the Netherlands and Belgium.

We’ve carefully curated all the products on our shelves, ensuring that every item sold meets our high standards of quality. We offer quite a selection of the most beloved British brands, hard-to-find American, Australian, South African, and Irish favorites.

As a trusted retailer in the community, we know that convenience is key. That’s why we offer a seamless shopping experience both in-store and online, ensuring that you can easily find all you love. We are keeping an eye on our shelves all the time: we receive fresh stock weekly so your trip is never a wasted one. Do check stock levels online though: we aren’t perfect.
